Though i have never been to the dog park here in midland, I plan to go and check it out for my dogs 1st birthday. I plan on having a birthday party at Hogan dog park, on Saturday April 10, 2010@ 12:00p.m.-3:00p.m. If you would like to attend please contact me in referecne to Dexter's birthday party, email me@ snubiep@gmail.com or call me @ 432-272-3117. Dexter is a Boston terrier, so I prefer small breeds. R.S.V.P. only for gift bags and food!
We take our dogs, Zack and Zanna, to the dog park almost daily. They love to run and socialize with the other dogs, and we love talking to the other dog "parents"!
Great people, great dogs, in a great doggy park! Thanks, City of Midland!
Hi. My name is River, and I am a Great Dane Puppy. My sister Daisy came to Midland for the weekend dog show on 2-3-4-5 April 2009. Daisy won today - only 3 more days to go. Dad takes me along too – for the “training” he says. My dad is training me for obedience and rally shows, so I am not ready to compete yet.
I wanted to say - what a super-nice dog park this is. After a hard morning in the dog-show ring, Daisy needed a break. We had a great time running and playing with the other dogs. And the water was fresh and delicious. Someone said the human rest rooms needed attention, but the doggie rest rooms were just perfect! I just wish everyone would clean up after themselves.
Mom says we will come back to the park every day and every evening until the shows are over.
You Midland Dogs are lucky to have such a nice place to play.

I am a nightly visitor to the dog park! We have had several "out of state" visitors who were just passing through Midland. All passing through have had positive comments. We also have visitors from Odessa, Andrews, Big Spring and other surrounding areas. It would be nice if there were a few agility items. Nothing high, just maybe agility poles, a low item or two. The City needs to water the grass on a regular basis and continue to rid the grass of stickers. It's a great place for non-aggressive dogs to socialize and a nice place to meet people. Non-aggressive people are welcome. The Bathrooms need improvement. The small dog park doesn't get the wear and tear that the large dog park gets. So, the small park has more stickers. Perhaps, the Parks Dept. could help to rid the stickers in the small dog park. Please "pick up" after dog(s) do their "business"! Thank you to the City of Midland for putting in a dog park. It is well used!
A great dog park according to visiters - no bells or whistles, just a large fenced in area where dogs can be dogs. Lots of grass, drinking fountain for both man and beast, benches. Bathrooms need to fixed up for us humans. Lots of friendly folks to visit with most evenings. Come on by, but leave your doggie treats in the car - please.
