Dog park is separated into 2 parts. The "small" dog area says "no dogs over 40 lbs." I didn't know 40 lbs was considered "small."
Anyways, the grass isn't very pretty, but at least it's not gravel. Unlike most parks with plastic bag, there's only a shovel, so I guess a lot of owners don't want to use it, so there's some dog feces around. But always full of dogs, so very good place to go to socialize your dogs.
It's laid out pretty nice, with small and large dog areas. Boulders, trees and benches make it look nice. The only problem is that the most popular small dog area is almost always too crowded, sometimes with up to 30 dogs in the smaller small dog area. When I figure it out I'll add Southern Highlands Dog Park at Cactus and Jones which is pretty nice with 3 small fenced areas for different sized dogs.
EDITOR COMMENT: The Southern Highlands dog park has been added to the map.
This is a great park. Has water available, all grassy/desert areas. Owners are usually very friendly. There has been some dogs that bullies other dogs, but it's all in good play.
The only negative thing is it's a bit on the smallish side for the small dog park, the large dog area is huge. The small dog area really should have more area for the dogs to run...instead the area is peppered with trees, benches, lamp post, etc..while it's more open for the large dog area.
Occasionally, it can get a little crowded. If it does, you can just take your dog on a leash and walk around the park with the swans, ducks, the lake etc.
enter at blue thumbnail and drive thru large parking lot and gravel lot, park is on your left at end of gravel lot
Nice park separate small dog and big dog area nice dogs and people for the most part.
