Favorite Dog-park in Las Vegas

I take my dog Simon 4 or 5 times a week to this park, always in the Big Dogs section. We go around the same time of day and there are a LOT of regulars at this park. Most of the regulars here also frequent Woofter. (But K-Z wins during the summer due to poor lighting at Woofter.)

The regulars are very conscientious about keeping the poo cleaned up--pick up their own or someone else's if they can't find their own. Of course, that isn't to say that everybody catches every single poo, but to balance that, I know one lady who has her kid do 'community service' when he gets in trouble by going on doggy doodie duty at this park. :)

Many of the regulars sit along the top of the hill during the warmer months just in the grass or on fold-away chairs where they can see the whole park and pop up whenever doodie-duty or discipline is in order.

The regular dogs here have a very balanced and easy-going attitude as a whole and generally welcome new dogs into the fold easily when the dogs are balanced and well-behaved.

Occasionally there will be a new face with a dog that isn't so nice, and sometimes, with time and patience they will persevere and integrate into the group. Other times, they don't come back after the first night. Either way, it keeps the general atmosphere relaxed and healthy for the dogs.

Reading over it, I guess it sounds a little 'cliquey', but in truth, it's really nice to have a place to come where so many of the people share an interest in having a park where the dogs can come play safely.

Another nice thing about this park is that the parking is all right along the fence (except on the rare occasions when there is a soccer or lacrosse tournament) so you can see your car, and the parking area and park are both very well-lit. This is especially reassuring with the rash of purse-thievery that has been going around the area dogparks in recent months.

Also, oddly the site doesn't list restrooms, but the park does in fact have restrooms just across the parking area from the off-leash area. They've been relatively clean the few times I've been in there.

Not bad, not great

The areas are pretty good size. On weekends there are quite a few people and dogs there, but the areas are big enough to handle it. Owners are friendly and most the dogs are well behaved. I like how there is a hill running a long the areas, makes for different terrain instead of plain flat area. There is always quite a bit of poop here so you need to watch your step. I see some owners picking up their dogs poop and other don't. Sometimes you just don't see it happening. Oh well, just wear shoes you leave at porch when you get home. Over its a good park that I go to frequently. My dogs always have fun.

Deplorable!

In the small dog area, there are "squatters" who come out and set up lawn chairs. It must be their social hour. They do not watch their dogs, so no one picks up the poop. Many of them bring their kids who are running around the park screaming and yelling. I thought the area was for exercising dogs!!

This is the dog park for owners that don't want a scene, just good dogs sniffin' butt and runnin' like the wind.

This is definetly one of the best dog parks in Las Vegas. I take my dog there almost daily. The othe dogs and dog owners are always friendly. The parks have at least two water fountains and supply doggie bags. There are lots of benches to sit on, or you can walk around the park.

really great dog park!!

We just started going to this dog park, and we love it!! The dog owners  are so friendly and so are the dogs. They supply plastic bags and have water.  We usually go in the afternoon and we enjoy it every time. We like this one better than Desert Breeze.
