This dog park has a separate small dog area. The larger park located here has an amphitheater, concession stands, playgrounds, and picnic areas.

Today I am so disgusted I can't see straight. Every Sunday the Basset Hound Rescue brings the bassets to this park. Today there was an over abundance of them, seemed like few volunteers were there as no one was even attempting to get the Bassets under control. This happens every Sunday. Also, I've see some males still intact, I hope they are dogs of some owners, and not the Rescue animals. I worked with several animal rescues in the area and every one of them always spayed/neutered (if not already) upon rescue. If you're going to bring so many to this, or any, park please get enough volunteers to keep them under control. This is really becoming a nuisance to other responsible dog owners.
This is the closest park to me so I go a lot by default. As others have said there is a lot of poop, people don't clean up after their dogs. This park frequently gets very crowded (30+ dogs on the large dog side alone) during the evenings and on weekends and thus the grass stayes pretty beaten up. I usually go in the mornings when there are fewer dogs. There is a good bunch of regulars (both people and dogs) that make this the best time to go if it fits your schedule.
I agree with the previous posters about the dog poop. I live just down the block from the place and usually end up driving down to Wayne Bunker Park on Alexander instead because the regulars there stand in a little group, ignoring others (including their dogs). They have no idea that their dogs are popping a squat on the other side of the park or terrorizing other dogs - particularly one owner who allows his gray and white pit to attack other dogs without even a word of reprimand.
I take my dogs to this park because it is around the corner from my home; however, I am considering driving the extra miles out of my way to find a park that is cleaner. Dog owners should really pick up after the pets. Its crazy the amount of droppings that are left behind. Maybe if the park implements a fine to those caught and/or reported, it would help solve the problem. I cannot even imagine what their backyards at home must look like.
I really liked this park until my dog got a poop transmitted disease from other dog owners not picking up after their dogs. My dog who was about 7 months old at the time got hookworm and cocylia costing me $ 300.00. I did not appreciate that.Besides that it was a great park.
