This park has a separate small dog area, a creek, a pond along (with the standard amount of mud), agility equipment, benches, and drinking water. EnviroWagg does the composting for this dog park. It is imperative to clean up after your dog especially around water so as not to cause fecal coliform bacteria to pollute the water. The City of Broomfield's webpage .

This park is one huge dirt/mud field littered with dog waste. There are 2 self filling water bowls here that rarely work, or so full of gunk that the dogs will not drink out of them- bring your own water to be safe. There is a "doggie playground" on the one side and a few benches. I lived right next to this park, but chose to go into Boulder where my dogs could have fun. In my opinion this park is overly used by the apartment complexes across the street and has too many dominant aggressive dogs that frequent this park.
The City of Broomfield should really try harder - this site has been a "Temporary Dog Park" for a long while. I too prefer going to 105th and Simms at Colorado Hills in Westminster or Boulder Open Space. It would be great if Broomfield were to implement an off-leash tag program similar to that of Boulder. That aside, this park gets a lot of use, and not much upkeep since it is only "temporary". There is usually a fair amount of mud in the winter / spring and dust in the summer. We typically will only venture out there if we are desperate to get the dogs out and typically after dark when there is no one else around. We feel safe there ... no crime in Broomfield to speak of, and most of the people there seem to be OK, although there are always a few bad apples no matter where you go.
I was surprised to see that this park and the park at Simms and 105th offer compostable bags. They also have separate trash containers for only the poop and compostable bags. Signs say that the material will be composted, which is a good idea considering the emphasis today on going "green".
On the good side- this park is large and has plenty of space to run off the leash. However, it is labeled as "Temporary Dog Park" and there are plans to turn it into a sports field (baseball?). It's dirt only (some weeds in the summer), minimal shade, and my dogs have gotten ill from the doggie water fountain. We have met some unfriendly dogs and owners who refuse to pick up after their dogs. But it can be a place to go for a quick run when wound up. I do prefer the park in Arvada (off Simms and 105th) or the Layfette park off of Country Rd.
