Dirty, few small dogs

I don't think we will be going to Miyuki Dog Park again. Of the parks we've been to this seems to be the grungiest. The "grass" is old and worn and very dirty. It is a very small park that I don't recommend unless you have large dogs. My 5 month old dog got pounced on 3 times by a big German Shepherd as soon as we got inside the gate. He "invited" her to play and that jumped on her and growled. We didn't even stay 5 minutes. All the dogs were large and to be honest, the park kind of stank. We had just come from a different, brand new park, beautiful, but didn't have any dogs there so we went to Miyuki. I'd rather put in the drive to Butcher Dog Park, it was clean, larger and had separate areas for the really big dogs. Mine is medium-small. Even when my dog gets bigger, I won't go to Miyuki unless they clean it up.

I have taken 2 of my dogs which are very well socialized...

I love that the location is near home, the place is kept clean and majority of owners are good about cleaning up after their dogs. I do have some high concerns in regards to owners not knowing what behavior needs to be banned from the dog park. Ive been going to Miyuki for about a year now and ive had both of my dogs attacked at this park. I dont know why people keep bringing aggressive dogs out to the park.... THIS NEEDS TO STOP. Please put your dogs on a time out if he or she is misbehaving. I see people just tell them no and let them go on their way, this methode doesnt work. So give them a serious time out put them on a leash for about 2 mins or in the gated area. This way your dog knows this is what happens when they act out in aggression. I love this dog park other then very few irresponsible dog owners. For those who are good i really appreciate the work you do with your dogs. I always like to see other well behaved dogs playing with mine.

We went there with our basset hound pup today, about 11am. It's a really nice, clean dog park. The area is a bit small. But there's enough room to have several dogs in there together. It looks like the city is keeping it well-kept and clean, granted that it has been renovated just only two years ago. The drinking fountains have ample running water and it's free of drool and muck. Although, I think we went there at the wrong time, there were only three dogs, including ours, and he had no one to play with actively. We'll go there again on another time next weekend to see if there will be more dogs to socialize with. But all in all, it's a nice dog park.

Miyuki dog park is up against highway 85 in the Santa Teresa area of San Jose.  It seems to have had a face lift around 2007.  This park is all artificial turf (same as what was used at Butcher park) and crushed gravel.  It seems like it will be a nice place even in the winter after rain.  There are doggie drinking fountains, benches, shade, trees, and room to run.  This park is on the smaller side and is one large common area for small and large dogs.  We saw about 10 other dogs there on a Saturday afternoon, whereas at other San Jose parks there can be about 50+ dogs at this same time on a nice sunny day.  There is limited parking right in front of the park but there is parking in the surrounding residential neighborhood and the larger park area.  This is definitely a nice upgraded dog park to visit.
