This dog park is tucked away in the canyon off of Mulholland Drive. You can miss the entrance (which I did the first time) if you are not careful. The dog park has both grass and dirt. I was excited about the grass, that is until I realized I had stepped in poo due to owners or "walkers" not properly picking up after their animals. Niam had a blast though, although some owners let their dogs bully mine (which the pooches didn't intend to do as they didn't realize their size). There was a great dane that attempted to bite my little guy while playing, which was kinda scary @ which point we left because too many dogs were running around unattended due to "walkers" having more than what one reasonable person could handle. There were trees and a little dog area, which was nice but my little guy wanted to be where the action was, which is partly why I tolerate more bullying when out and about. Niam and I will be returning, it was overall a positive experience.
