One of the Best Dog Parks in OC

I don't know what that person is saying about there being no trees. He must be blind. There are a bunch of trees. The grass has been redone so it looks good. There are built in benches to sit on with covers for shade. People have brought many chairs to sit in. There is water for the dogs and people have even brought extra bowls for water. There are separate areas for big dogs and small dogs. Both have mostly grass, but also have a small strip of land that is wood bark under the trees. The large dog section is huge and the small dog park is one of the biggest in OC.

That's not a "toxic waste dump". Its a small city managed recycling location where you can take old TV's or used motor oil instead of throwing them in the trash.

It has it's own parking lot for about 30 cars and parking on the street is easy and free. Every time I have been there people have been friendly and it's easy to start up a conversation about your dogs, vet care, pet food, etc.

Place is closed every Wednesday for maintenance.

don't waste your time

I stopped by this dog park to check it out, I figured it was in irvine so it would be nice. No! It is behind some industrial buildings with a hazardous waste dump at the entrance of the park. No trees and it is not that large compared to other parks in the area. If you are in that area go to the Laguna Canyon park instead.

Great Place for Dogs & Humans!

The Irvine Dog Park is a great place to put your dog off leash and visit with your community. Especially in the first years my dog was a puppy, he NEEDED a place to be off-leash running around, wrestling with other dogs and just generally being a dog. While I always keep one eye on him, I also have made many friends and enjoy my visits there. A few cautionary notes: (1)don't bring any food into the park, (2)not really a great place for kids -- they will compete with dogs for running space and can easily get knocked over, (3)let your dog be a dog!
