This park does not seem like a sump at all. I've been going to this park for the last 3 months, and have yet to see any puddles or slosh of any kind. As for the defecating, MOST owners are really good about picking up after their dog(s). There are stations with poo bags and bins to throw away full sacks. There are spots with sand and spots with grass... maybe the sand soaked up the water? Haha. Anyway, I love this dog park, and so does my dog. The regulars are very friendly, and their dogs are very pleasant as well. This is a great park to take your new pup for socializing... as long as their shots are up to date. Dog parks can be very harmful to dogs who are not up to date with their shots. There are also several buckets of water for the dogs, tennis balls laying around, and there's even some tug ropes the dogs play with that stay at the park. My experience at this park has been wonderful.
Kroll Way Dog Park has a water accumulation problem. In my opinion it is unsanitary because the dogs deficate and urinate and play in the water. The so called park is a drainage sump called a dog park. If your dog likes to play in water I would stay away from this sump.
I contacted the city council about this water drainage problem on the 20th of Sept. 08 and one of the city managers called me and said the sump is doing its job. I asked for the city to have a park that was not a sump or anything else but a park for dogs and dog owners. Centennial and Wilson Dog Parks are also sumps called dog parks but soccer play takes priority over the dogs. Centennial and Wilson sumps do not have the water accumulation problem that Kroll Way has.
